The new electoral systems introduced in 2005 to choose members of the Italian
Senate and Chamber of Deputies in the April 9-10, 2006 legislative elections,
as well as the previous electoral systems are described in

Canada held an early general election on Monday, January 23, 2006 after the
Liberal Party minority government was toppled in a parliamentary confidence
motion on Monday, November 28, 2005. The Canadian electoral system is described
in Federal Elections in Canada - Elections to the House of
Commons, with results of general elections held in Canada from 1993 to
2006.
New Zealand and the Federal Republic of Germany held general elections on
September 17 and 18, 2005, respectively. Elections to the New
Zealand House of Representatives and Elections to the German
Bundestag describe the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) representation
system used in both countries, with results of parliamentary elections held
in New Zealand from 1996 to 2005 and in Germany from 1972 to 2005.
Norway held a parliamentary election on Monday, September 12, 2005. The results
of legislative elections held in Norway from 1985 to 2005 are available in

The United Kingdom held an early general election on Thursday, May 5, 2005.

Australia held a federal legislative election on Saturday, October 9, 2004.

South Africa held a general election on Wednesday, April 14, 2004. The South
