Welcome to the Election Resources on the Internet Web site. In this space you will find links to Internet sites around the world which provide complete and detailed national and local election statistics, as well as other election resources. If you know of a site that meets such criteria and you do not see it listed here, please send me a message.

The new electoral systems introduced in 2005 to choose members of the Italian Senate and Chamber of Deputies in the April 9-10, 2006 legislative elections, as well as the previous electoral systems are described in Elections to the Italian Parliament, with results of parliamentary elections held in Italy from 1994 to 2006.

Canada held an early general election on Monday, January 23, 2006 after the Liberal Party minority government was toppled in a parliamentary confidence motion on Monday, November 28, 2005. The Canadian electoral system is described in Federal Elections in Canada - Elections to the House of Commons, with results of general elections held in Canada from 1993 to 2006.

New Zealand and the Federal Republic of Germany held general elections on September 17 and 18, 2005, respectively. Elections to the New Zealand House of Representatives and Elections to the German Bundestag describe the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) representation system used in both countries, with results of parliamentary elections held in New Zealand from 1996 to 2005 and in Germany from 1972 to 2005.

Norway held a parliamentary election on Monday, September 12, 2005. The results of legislative elections held in Norway from 1985 to 2005 are available in Parts I and II of Elections to the Norwegian Storting.

The United Kingdom held an early general election on Thursday, May 5, 2005. The British electoral system is described in Parliamentary Elections in the United Kingdom - Elections to the House of Commons, which also includes summary results of the 2001 and 2005 general elections.

The results of parliamentary elections held in Portugal since 1975 (now including results of the early legislative election held on Sunday, February 20, 2005), as well as a description of the proportional representation system used to choose members of the Portuguese legislature are available in Elections to the Portuguese Assembly of the Republic.

The results of parliamentary elections held in Denmark since 1990 (now including final results of the early parliamentary election held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005), as well as an overview of the proportional representation system used to choose members of the Danish legislature are available in Elections to the Danish Folketing.

Puerto Rico election results from 1920 to the present can be found at the Elections in Puerto Rico Web site, which I also maintain. The site, available in Spanish and English, also includes reference materials relative to the Puerto Rican election process, as well as a lookup facility for fast access to Islandwide- and municipal-level results of election events held in the U.S. Commonwealth since 1932.

Australia held a federal legislative election on Saturday, October 9, 2004. The results of general elections held in Australia from 1993 to 2004, as well as descriptions of the House of Representatives and Senate electoral systems are available in Federal Elections in Australia.

South Africa held a general election on Wednesday, April 14, 2004. The South African electoral system is described in General Elections in the Republic of South Africa, with detailed results of the 1994, 1999 and 2004 general elections.

Spain held a general election on Sunday, March 14, 2004. The proportional representation system used in Elections to the Spanish Congress of Deputies is described on this site, with final results of parliamentary elections held in Spain from 1977 to 2004.
